5 myths about brushing your teeth that you shouldn't believe.
We brush our teeth every day and think we know exactly how to do it. However, there are many myths that can do more harm than good for your teeth.
“If I use a toothbrush and mouthwash, I don’t need interdental aids.”
Neither mouthwash nor a regular toothbrush can sufficiently clean the spaces between the teeth. Only mechanical cleaning with a toothbrush and a floss-pick or dental floss will effectively remove plaque.
“If your gums bleed when you brush between your teeth, you need to stop.”
Gums bleed because they become inflamed due to plaque buildup. With regular and thorough cleaning, the inflammation subsides and the bleeding disappears.
“A good cleaning with a hard toothbrush is best.”
Using a hard toothbrush and applying strong pressure can irritate the gums and damage tooth enamel. Choose an ULTRA SOFT toothbrush and brush gently.
“Brushing your teeth once a day is enough.”
Brushing once a day is insufficient to remove plaque and bacteria. For healthy teeth, brush twice a day – morning and evening.
“Sharing a toothbrush with a partner is fine.”
Using the same toothbrush as your partner can lead to the exchange of bacteria, increasing the risk of infections. Always use your own toothbrush.
Eliminate these harmful habits and choose the right SOFTdent® products for healthy teeth.
